Slip and Fall
Property owners and operators have are required to make sure that their property is safe. If a property is unsafe, for any reason, owners must post visible
warnings. A slip-and-fall injury can happen when owners fail to warn people of a dangerous condition or do not maintain their property. The victim of such an
accident may seek money damages against the property's owner, operator or both.
Most Common slip-and-fall accidents occur because of:
 slippery or wet floors;
 poor lighting;
 broken or slippery steps;
 missing or broken handrails;
 garbage debris;
 construction debris;
 road work;
 speed bumps that are not clearly marked;
 construction work; or
 other dangerous conditions.
The law places certain duties and responsibilities on landlords, store owners, and municipal governments to maintain safe sidewalks, aisles, walkways
and common areas. If you or a loved one is injured as a result of a trip or slip and fall, you should report the accident to either police or security
personnel, get the names and addresses of any witnesses, see a doctor, photograph any visible injuries, and consult with a slip and fall injury lawyer.
You may be entitled to a sum of money as damages for your injury.
